About Bairnsdale Plumber

Bairnsdale Plumber is a plumbing enquiry and referral website run by Yes Right Pty Ltd. See how enquiries are passed on and how to check a plumber's licence.

Bairnsdale Plumber is an enquiry and referral website for plumbing jobs in Bairnsdale and nearby East Gippsland towns. The operator is Yes Right Pty Ltd (ABN 91 664 546 061). The site does not employ plumbers and does not carry out plumbing work. When you send an enquiry, it is passed to an independent local plumbing business, and that business decides whether it can help, prepares its own quote and carries out any work you agree to.

Who runs this website?

Yes Right Pty Ltd runs the website, the enquiry form and the handling of the details you send. It is not a plumbing contractor and holds no plumbing licence or registration. There is no Bairnsdale workshop, no team of tradespeople and no record of completed jobs behind this site, and any image you see here illustrates a type of work rather than a job done through an enquiry. The provider who receives your enquiry may pay Yes Right Pty Ltd a referral fee. That fee is between the provider and Yes Right and is not added to anything you are asked to pay by this website.

What happens after you send an enquiry?

  1. You fill in the enquiry form with your suburb, contact details and a description of the plumbing problem.
  2. Your enquiry is reviewed and passed to an independent provider that works on that kind of job in your area.
  3. The provider contacts you directly. They may ask for photos, the make and model of an appliance, or a site visit before they can price anything.
  4. If they can take the job, they give you their own quote. You decide whether to accept it.

Sending the form does not book an appointment, and it does not commit you or any provider to anything. Availability, timing and whether a job is accepted all depend on the provider. If something is unsafe right now, such as a smell of gas, contact the gas emergency line for your network or call 000 rather than waiting on a web enquiry.

What is the provider responsible for?

Once a provider contacts you, the arrangement is between you and that business. The provider is responsible for:

  • assessing the job and telling you what it involves
  • the quote, including what is and is not included
  • holding the licence or registration needed for the class of plumbing or gasfitting work
  • doing the work safely and to the plumbing standards that apply in Victoria
  • issuing a compliance certificate where the work requires one
  • its own payment terms, warranty and handling of any complaint about the work

Ask for the scope in writing before work starts, along with how any extra work found on the day will be priced and agreed. Our plumbing service guides explain what to describe for each type of job, and the Bairnsdale area page covers local conditions worth mentioning in an enquiry.

How do you check a plumber’s licence in Victoria?

Plumbers and gasfitters in Victoria are registered or licensed by the Building and Plumbing Commission (BPC). The BPC was established on 1 July 2025 and took over the work of the Victorian Building Authority, so registrations that used to be checked with the VBA are now checked with the BPC. Its find and check a practitioner page lets you search by name, business name, licence number, location or type of work, and shows whether the registration or licence is current and whether it carries conditions. The same page links to the Compliance and Enforcement Register, which lists some disciplinary and prosecution outcomes.

Check that the class shown on the register matches your job. Drainage, water supply, sanitary work and gasfitting are separate classes, and a plumber licensed in one class is not automatically licensed in another. Under Part 12A of the Building Act 1993, a licensed plumber must give you a compliance certificate when the total value of the work passes the threshold the BPC publishes, and at any value for jobs such as installing or replacing a Type A gas appliance or altering a below-ground sanitary drain. Keep that certificate with your property records. Complex gas installations sit with Energy Safe Victoria rather than the BPC certificate scheme, so ask the provider which applies if your job involves commercial or unusual gas equipment.

Your details and questions

Your enquiry details are used to pass the job to a provider and for nothing else, as set out in our privacy notice. For a question about an enquiry or about this website, note it in the message box on the form and the operator will reply. When you are ready, describe your plumbing job in the enquiry form with your town, the fixture or appliance involved and whether the property is on town sewer or a septic system.
